LESHANKI - The Children of Leshy

How can we help YOU?

Leith

I dunt know nuffin aboot arch-i-ma-tecture!! Do YOU?!?!

Hey, Need opinions again!
OK, so De and I are getting hitched, but before we do we want our own place...... how we can afford it is a different question, which I didnt ask so mind yer business.......!!

Soooooooooo......
We have found several blocks of land of around 40 acres that range from $120,000 to about $170,000. Of course we want the cheapest we can!

There is a $25,000 government payment fingy for first home owner who build a new house!
We need a big friggin house as I will have 3 children as of March and De already has 3, she also sugested she would like another...... DUDE!!!!!!!

Thats 6 possibly 7 children running around the house, hence the 7 bedroom house as seen below:

Hey, I designed it with SFA tools cept some basic photo shop fing-o, so shuup!
Yes, it is MY design after much discussion with De as to what we wanted.
Problem is I know bugger all about architecture.... in fact I dont even know how to spell it!

The picture isnt exactly to scale either, but I did my best based on looking hard at it! HA!

Oh I should mention what materials we are going to use.
STRAW BALES!!
Yes, thats right. Just dont huff and puff too hard!
So the walls will end up being about a meter thick, its GREAT sound proofing and insulation!
No, it wont be just straw on the inside and out, that would be just silly... It will be rendered.
The foundation will be a cement slab.
The frame of the house will either be steel or wood, not sure yet.

The roof will be COVERED in solar pannels which we will also be making ourselves. We will have enough home made solar panels, wind turbines and even a water turbine to power the entire house and stay off the grid altogether. They are actually fairly cheap to make.

Its still in the planning phase, so if anyone has any ideas, feel free! :-)

The plan is also available in a .png file down below so you can down load it and move it about yourself if ya want.

EDIT: the photo up there looks shit, so I have uploaded it as well below:

If you are looking at using strawbales I have deep respect for yas both you bloody hippies :P.
As to the decision for steel or wood, well that is actually simple...do you have termites??. Termites are the dread of all strwbale builders, not only do they eat the wood structure, but they also eat the straw leaving hollow walls that simply fall down.
To remedy this, chemical treatment of the bales is required, and to have a house made out of pesticide soaked strawbales really turns a good hearted hippy like myself down. But if you are in a termite free zone, then your best bet is to sit down with your local council member who is your local housing inspector and find out what the local region prefers.
Personally I prefer wood, it looks good, the large solid trunks can be left uncovered by the render to really make a dramatic statement within the home. But steel is easier to use, comes in set, and very strong lengths. But is on the other hand very expensive.
Wood : Attractive, warm, natural, cheap(er), allows for a "wooded naturale" apperance, allowing for circular freefloating staircases to ascend a central trunk etc.
Steel : Has to be hidden, expensive, allows for open planning due to strength probably much more but I hate steel :P.

Good luck to the pair of you, if you need a hand to get started Im interested in helping.

You forgot to add a basement...if you add a basemet you can move the laundry to the basement..PLUS add a cold celer for food storage (lots of people=lots of food) ALSO the basement will serve as a rec-room for the kids..some 1060 wood paneling and some shag carpet and your good to go..PLUS the basement is where the funace and water heating systems will go...dude YOU FORGOT A BASEMENT!!..

You know what I did notice that there are not alot of places to STORE things like Xmas lights and plastic trees :) or anything else you may have in boxes that come out once a year..what a bout a wieght set for the boys and you, your going to want that in the basement cause its cooler when you swet and you dont want them dropped on wood floors..also..if your going to BONG it up..you can do it in the basement..:) not that I think you should be bonging it up or anything..I just think your going to need a basement...

but dont come crying to me when you build the house and then realize...shit I need a basement..cause I already told you so..LOL

Good plan though..tell me how you make your money so I can copy and duplicate your money making plan..and get me 40 achers of land to build my cult center on :)

ALL HAIL SAMHAINS!

Waaaaaay ahead of ya!
See, I didnt put up the rest of the plan.
To the west of the house will be a RUMPUS ROOM so all the kids excess toys and crap can go out there, hence the door at the end of the house near the kids rooms. :-)
To the North of the house will be my RECORDING STUDIO which will also be solar/wind powered. This will be a selling point for my business, a 100% environmentally friendly recording studio. The hippies will love it! I'm going to section off a section to set up my HOME GYM in the same building. The OFFICE and waiting room will be upstairs. There is a Government organisation called New Enterpirse Incentive Scheme (NEIS) who will give you most, if not all, of the money required to set up a new business if they like your idea. Im hoping I can get them to fund my Studio.

Both the Rumpus and studio will have lofts for STORAGE. Im thinking of using those big arse American barns as a skeleton for them.

The HOT WATER system will be on the roof, being solar and all. Wouldnt make much sense locking it in the dark of a basement now would it?

Food storage= big walk-in pantry in the kitchen. Its on the house diagram.

To the East of the house will be the WATER TANKS , GARAGE and CLOTHES LINE and more than likely the shed to house the BATTERIES for the power supply.

There will be a BAR in the Adults room/Loft on the main house. This will also be our room for storing our Witchy supplies so the kids dont mess with it.

We also have plans to build out very own STONE HENGE somewhere on the land for ritual use and suround it with a HEDGE MAZE.

Yep, we has BIIIIIIIIIIIIIG plans.

FEASTS AND BOOZE FOR ALL WHO DECIDE TO ASSIST IN THE BUILDING OF IT ALL!!!!! So, I have James down for it...... who else? ;-p

EDIT: fuck it! Whats with the pictures comming out with lines and shit missing?!?!?! If you want to see it properly, its up-loaded below.
